Barrett’s Biological Surveys has worked closely with agencies such as United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)and Imperial County Planning and Development Department in preparing technical reports. BBS has voluntarily participated in federal/state sponsored local surveys for burrowing owls under the guidance of Bob Wilkerson (2006-7); mountain plover, and long billed curlew (2010-12), under the guidance of Kathy Molina. Working with USFWS and CDFW, they helped develop a proposed burrowing owl survey for Imperial County. Marie Barrett was the volunteer coordinator of the Salton Sea International Bird Festival for seven years. BBS has surveyed for bats in cooperation of BLM, El Centro, CA under the guidance of Pat Brown (2013-14).
